April 2025

Happy Spring! We have selected some very fun wines from Georgia this month (not the U.S. state, but the country of Georgia)! “Ocho” refers to the Georgian mythological protector of forests and wild animals, and each bottle’s label portrays a different animal on the brink of extinction.

OCHO RKATSITELI/WHY RU HERE?

This wine is delicious, amber in the glass, made from 100% Rkatsiteli sgrapes ourced from vineyards in the Kakheti region. Tasting notes of dried apricot, orange peel, and herbal undertones, complemented by hints of nuts and spices. Medium-bodied with flavors of ripe stone fruits, tea leaves, and a balanced acidity. We love to pair this wine with grilled chicken and veggies wrapped up in a pita or over a bed of buttery orzo :)

OCHO TAVKVERI/DO YOU WONDER?

Tavkveri is a natural wine made naturally made from sustainably farmed 100% Tavkveri, sourced from vineyards in the Kartli region. Expressive notes of red berries, pomegranate, and floral undertones, complemented by subtle earthy nuances. Light-bodied with lively acidity, showcasing flavors of fresh red fruits, a touch of spice, and a well-integrated tannic structure leading to a clean, refreshing finish. We love to pair this wine with a lamb dish, or grilled veggies. This wine would be great for any dinner party or bbq!
